Resist the Overwhelming Dominance of American Content
How I Finally Understood My Dad Was Right About Hollywood Propaganda

Back in the 1970s, my father, Robert had a sharp eye for cinema. While everyone was raving about big-budget American war films or disaster epics with exploding volcanoes and collapsing skyscrapers (La Tour Infernale), he’d lean over and say: “You know, this is propaganda, right?”
At the time, I just wanted popcorn and spectacle. But now, 40 years later, I see what he meant. And oh boy, was he right — it’s only gotten worse.
Today, with the rise of streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon, and others, we’re served an endless buffet of content where the main dish is usually violence, crime, dystopia, or some superhero with anger issues.
It’s flashy, addictive, and — whether we realize it or not — deeply ideological. These films shape how we see the world, how we fear it, and often how we misunderstand it.
That’s why I’ve created MyCinema.Life: a personal video library for my family, close friends, and their children.
It’s my way of pushing back. I want to share films that don’t just entertain, but that nourish the soul, celebrate humanity, and remind us of the richness of world cinema — from Europe to Asia, from Latin America to Africa.
Stories that whisper truths rather than shout slogans.
This is not a war against American cinema. It’s just a quiet rebellion against its dominance.
Thanks, Dad. Your clarity still lights the path.
And to everyone else: enjoy the show — and question it too.
